Our Great God—
2023 Grow Virtual Conference
“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge…” Proverbs 1:7a
I’ve been thinking about this verse a good bit lately. The beginning. The starting place. The foundation of knowledge…is the fear of the Lord. Reverence and humility. Our right response to our covenant keeping, relational, redeeming God! This is the beginning of knowledge. Those of us who teach children must start here. We must start with our own knowledge of who God is. It is a privilege to share our great God with others! How can they worship a God they do not know? The names of God in Scripture tell us so much about who He is and I’m thankful we will be focusing on this during our Grow Virtual Conference.
This conference is held live at the beginning of August to help people gather as a church and set our hearts and minds on truth as we prepare for a new school year of teaching children. It’s just the boost we need to start well. The content is provided through 3 main sessions of teaching, as well as workshops. Each church can decide how many times they’d like to gather in person as well as what they might need to add in. We understand that every church context is different, and you’ll need to walk through logistics and specific training for your own church. We pray the Grow Virtual Conference is a blessing as you think through the many logistical needs to begin well.
In addition to 3 main sessions, there are 8 new workshops this year. Each workshop is about thirty minutes of training on various subjects. You will want to check out all the topics this year as there are great offerings for teachers as well as training parents. Outreach, Family worship, Prayer, Learning styles and wisdom for the classroom, Covenant theology and enfolding children with unique needs. As one workshop description writes…letting our great God power the longview of discipleship, because Sunday comes around every week. We want to help children grow in knowledge of this great God as we spend time with them every week.
The beauty of this flexible conference is that you have access to all the content through January of 2024. This allows time for viewing any of the sessions or workshops (10 workshops from last year’s conference are also included!). It remains through January as you may have new teachers joining in the new year who could use some inspiration and training. Our desire is for you to have confident teachers who are depending on the Lord in every part of their life and sharing this great big God with the children in their churches. Please consider joining us this year!
