Parenting Conference at your Church

The Discipleship Ministry of the PCA seeks to strengthen the church by connecting people to people and people to resources.  One aspect of that mission is to provide onsite training and resources for the local church.

Consider the topic options as you build a conference that fits your church context. To inquire about scheduling a parenting conference at your church, please email Sarah Beth Eutsey, seutsey@pcanet.org. You will receive a form that will help you think through the details of the conference and offer a meeting with Stephen Estock and Katie Flores.

  • Parenting in Relationship with a Gracious God – Christian parents are never alone, even though we can feel uncertain and helpless. “Perfect parenting” is impossible because children and parents are imperfect. Yet, the God who gave us these “little blessings” promises to be with us regardless of the circumstances we face. Christ has secured for us a relationship with a perfect Heavenly Father. This session considers how God’s grace enables us to parent moment-by-moment for His glory.
  • Parenting in the Covenant: Children and the Covenant of Grace – Children, parents, and even the church are different now than they were when we were growing up. God’s faithfulness to His people stays the same. How can we tell God’s story intentionally to our children? We will discuss the characteristics of God’s covenant and the implications that has on us in the covenant community.
  • “Give Me Grace” Discipline in the Covenant Community – No child is perfect. No parent is perfect. What do you do when the child goes astray? What does “showing grace” look like in those situations? This session will consider the topic of discipline and how parents strive to reveal the character of God in the midst of imperfection.
  • First Tracks Cut Deepest – Parents are still the most influential voice in their child’s life. We can steward that influence as we evaluate opportunities to lead and teach children in our homes, pray for our families and create family rhythms that set the stage for these opportunities.
  • Church and Home: A Partnership – Glorifying God as a family begins at home and flows into your life with others in the church community. The weekly worship service may seem like a challenge, but God intends it to be an opportunity that encourages and equips you to glorify Him throughout the week. This session considers how to invest time and resources to connect church and home. The goal is a culture of discipleship in our families that leads to worship every day of the week.
