(Malachi 3:16 – 4:6; Luke 1:17)
As we strive to serve the next generation, what is the hope we long for? In the closing words of the Old Testament, the prophet Malachi speaks of the glory of the coming of Christ. As the age of the New Testament dawns, the angel Gabriel reminds God’s people of the blessings of kingdom life: the hearts of fathers are turned to the children. This hope is a guiding purpose in our ministry for it reflects the very heart of God. We get distracted and may grow weary in the struggle, but we keep our eyes fixed on the purpose of God’s plan of redemption: the eternal blessing of the heart of a Father turned toward His children.
